Tara Toys, Combat Collectors Case
Yet another generic action figure case from Tara Toys. The one difference being the shape of the case. While most cases tended to be about 16 to 18 inches wide and the image was place horizontially, this one is vertical and more square like. And quite honestly, I don't know which one came first as this claims to be good for GI Joes and Tara Toys made an licensed GI Joe one. Another interesting thing is that the art on the front seems to be vacu-formed and not printed on the cardboard. It's pretty cool despite being shaped differently from all the other cases I have.
The front cover, though not my actual case as the one I have is missing the vacu formed plastic sheet. |
This is what the interior trays look like and where I keep Zartan and the Dreadnoks! |

Hasbro, COPS- Bulletproof
Ah... COPS. One of the few lines that I go outside the 3 3/4"- 1:18 scale. Not alot toylines centered around a police force and this one came on to the scene with a bang. No, really, it's literally came on to the scene with a bang because of it's cap firing features. Those were the good ole' days when toy guns looked like guns and a not afraid of them in the sense that a kid would be scared witless because someone else brought one to school. I actually read about that in a news article.
Anyhow, getting away from the politics of guns and gun control. B.P. Vess aka Bulletproof here is the leader of the Central Organization of Police Specialists or C.O.P.S. As a kid I really liked this show and due to the lows in Joe and Transformer collecting, I've managed to pick up a few here and there. Expect more COPS figures in the future. :)

Galoob, Blackstar- John Blackstar
John Blackstar is probably one of the earliest toys I remember seeing on TV and wanting one. I think I might've seen the show but I was barely 4 or 5 years old when it aired. Either way I loved playing with this guy and his draconic steed Warlock. Especially Warlock as I kept him well after his foot broke off. Unfortunately I didn't remember what happened to both of them (probably went off to some needy kid or trashed during the annual purging of old or broken toys) but thanks to the magic of eBay I got a new Blackstar. Now to get a He-Man so they can go off on adventures together!

Mega Bloks, Halo- NYCC 2013 Exclusive Spartan
I didn't really get any swag (freebies) at NYCC this year but the one thing I did get, I think is pretty cool. If you haven't noticed I happen to like Halo, and when they're mini-figs it's awesome. Cool thing is, is that all I had to do was fill out a SUPER quick survey to get him! Expect more of him and his Spartan buddies to show up on the blog more often! ;)

Hasbro, Star Wars 6" Black Series, Sandtrooper
BONUS POST since I missed Tuesday. Sorry guys!
Yup, I did it, I got a 6" figure. I know, know, you're probably say, "But Vic. you don't really collect 6" figures. You're a 3 3/4" guy. What happened?" I'll tell you what happened. It was 2 things, curiosity and everybody raving over it. Peer pressure in a way, but not really. Peer pressure is what convinced to get one after hemming and hawing. I mean, I was curious but I wanted to hear what everyone else had to say first and dammit, everyone was right, this figure is great!
Does this mean I'll become a hardcore 6" collector? Heck no! Besides this is STAR WARS and like most GEN Xers in their late 30's to early 40's, Star Wars is pretty influential in their geekly pursuits. Star Wars is one of the exceptions of why I would cross the 3 3/4" barrier. That said, super cool figure, if you could find one and definitely worth getting!

Hasbro, COPS- Longarm Redux
I've shown off Longarm from the COPS line before but this is a new one that came with accessories. He's still not 100% complete but it's better than the one one I had gotten before. Expect more for from this line in the future! :)

Playmates, TMNT- Turtles in Training
The boys are back! These guys are super cute and I think every Turtles fan should have a set. Granted they aren't very articulated but their awesomeness more than makes up for it in my book!

Power Lords, Gripptakk Grunt
Four Horseman Studios was at this year's NYCC and they had his fella for sale. I really love what 4H is doing with this line!
